How to get involved

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME WHEN I JOIN?

Becoming a member of the PTA shows that you want to help support the programs and events that help enhance students' experiences at school. It does not obligate you to attend the PTA meetings or volunteer. While we would love for everyone to attend, we understand families are busy during the school year and have other important commitments.

However, attending meetings and volunteering at any of the several PTA sponsored events provide opportunities to meet other parents and share in experiences with your child.

WHAT DOES THE PTA DO?

The Waterford Oaks Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers and community members committed to enhancing the educational experience for all children at our school.

There is a gap in State and District funding for essential educational programs and classroom support for teachers. WOE students benefit from these extra programs that would not be possible without contributions from the community. Donations fund our afterschool programs and additional tutoring hours for our students.  We also need volunteers and donations to make things like the Trunk or Treat, The Winter and Spring Dance a success.
